Nadya Tolokonnikova, artist, activist, and co-founder of the feminist protest collective Pussy Riot, has joined forces with Elijah McKenzie-Jackson for this week’s #ClimateStrikeOnline to demand urgent action following the devastating oil spill in Norilsk, Russia.

Nadya, known for her fearless activism against authoritarianism, political oppression, and environmental destruction, was named one of TIME Magazine’s Women of the Year for her relentless advocacy for human rights and democracy. She and Elijah first met in the Amazon Rainforest, where they connected over their shared commitment to climate justice. Since then, they have remained in contact, working to amplify urgent environmental crises worldwide.

Now, they are using their platforms to raise awareness and demand accountability for one of the worst Arctic environmental disasters in recent history. The spill, caused by corporate negligence, has inflicted catastrophic damage on fragile Arctic ecosystems, emphasizing the need for immediate action to prevent further destruction and hold those responsible accountable.
